Chin Chin Eating House, Purvis Street

Ex-collegue's birthday lunch. Satisfying, homely grub. Unless you are Hainanese and probably used to more delicious homemade varieties. 


You can't lose with fried rice. I repeat, can't lose. 


The darker-than-usual chap chye was winner against the anaemic versions that I was used to. 


At the risk of sounding like a 60 year old perv, this was gloriously smooth and succulent.


Incredibly lemak fish head curry. Loved how the vegetables soaked up the heady gravy without turning to mush. 


Dry and stringy paired with discoloured peas, skip the Hainanese pork chop unless you have a thing for tree bark.
