Italian classics done well at Donna Carmela, Greenwood Ave

Lunch at Donna Carmela was an impromptu event. We had other plans but ended up at Greenwood Avenue, a privilege enclave lined with many options for Italian food.

The Insalata di Rucola (rocket salad with shaved Parmesan and Sicilian tomatoe) is light, healthy... You get the drift right?

I would totally return for the Bismak Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, mushrooms and eggs). Looking at those two eggs just makes my heart sing and everything on that pizza was perfect.

Fiorentina Dello Chef is a heafty 800g Porterhouse steak 800g, served sliced, served with mix salad and roasted potatoes. As you can tell, it was a lovely shade of pink though some might find too rare for their liking.

The dish I expected to get least excited about was one of my favourites for the meal - Fusilli Gamberi e Porcini (tiger prawn and porcini mushroom in cream and pesto sauce).

The ever-dependable Chocolate Lava cake might score low on the Creativity Scorecard, but it is right at home at Donna Carmela. Plus when done well, you can't help but sink your spoon in for more than your fair share.
