Well, just giving my two cents worth on "feel good food"...



When was the last time you had a meal that you felt really good about?

I see a few heads nodding away...

Ok then, hands up if the meal made you feel good because you felt like you've made a difference?

I see a couple of hands up...

And by "difference", I don't mean to your waistline or the company's expense account..but to someone's life..

Hey where did the hands go?



Fret not, folks for Food For Thought is godsend for those eager to get onto the hottest waiting list this season- Santa's 'Nice' namelist.

Waiter, could we get the slow-roasted pulled pork and oven-roasted steak sandwich, conscience served on the side?



Diana had the slow-roasted pulled pork, hand-shredded slow-roasted pork shoulder, served with sweet potatoes slices, baby spinach leaves, drizzled with homemade barbecue sauce.



I answered my red meat craving for a oven-roasted steak sandwich, pinkish roast beef, topped with pommery mustard and balsamic dressing. I have to be honest, because of the word 'steak,' I was expecting a hunk of meat, instead of the flimsy sheets. Nonetheless, it was tasty despite the absence of a huge manly steak.

Both sandwiches were tucked neatly between homemade foccacia. When we entered the cafe, baking trays of freshly baked foccacia were being fished out of the oven. The lingering aroma of baked dough triggered saliva ducts- I would have been satisfied with just bread and some jam.



Personally, I'm heartened by the concept and mission of Food For Thought. I guess in the wake of so many charity scandals, people really find a need to contribute to a cause or an organization that isn't bounded by red tape and larger-than-life egos. Part of Food For Thought's profits go into social causes and although tap water is FOC, you could choose to donate to international well-building projects so that other people may have free water someday as well.

Just for the record, Food For Thought, your likes and dislikes scribble is spot on .

By the way, I extended my stay in Hong Kong till the 13th.
