last night, a few of us decided to make pizza for dinner. not frozen-pop-instantly-into-your-oven pizza but REAL pizza made from scratch.. which naturally includes mxing the flour and water, kneading the dough, leaving it to rise, adding the toppings so on and so forth.. phew, i am seriously not used to all the hard work for one meal.

of course, i was more of the loyal apprentice, rather than trusty sidekick to heiko who orchestrated the preparation with the ease of a pizza master.. for eight people, we made three large rectangular pizzas with salami & onion and a hawaiian mix of pineapple & ham.. crumple in the mozarella.. sprinkle in oregano and basil.. voila! pop the pizza into the oven the pizzas and wait for it to primp

the end result was marvellous! fresh wholesome pizza free of all that nasty additives... to describe it as scumptous would have been an understatement.. one pizza crust, as unanimously agreed, exuded wasy-to-tear-apart softness while the other crusts were more cookie crunchy.. so i had the best of both worlds.

i never thought i would get to say this- but it feels good to be home. one day i will snap a police mugshot of everyone in the kitchen and introduce them to you guys back at home!
