Staycation at Shangri La Hotel, Singapore

Oh, hey there. We just got back from a staycation at Shangri La Hotel and it was amazing! Usually around this time of the year, we would fly out for a vacation but due to last minute changes in travel plans, we decided to hang up our passports and check into a local hotel instead. No regrets. Naddah.

Initially, we wanted to stay on Sentosa but after considering several options, we went with Shangri La Hotel just off Orchard Road. I guess we are a little sentimental since we did hold our wedding banquet there 7 years ago (gasp, 7 years!) and it felt like a homecoming of sorts to bring our boys there for a staycation. One other key reason was kids wonderland Buds by Shangri-La, interactive indoor and outdoor play space. As soon as I saw their facilities I was s-o-l-d.

We stayed for a couple of nights, which felt like the Goldilocks of timings – not too short and not too long, just right for a family of four. Our one-bedroom suite at Tower Wing, consisting of a bedroom and living room, was also perfect for our needs. There were fruits and chocolates waiting for us in the room, and minutes later, a Shangri La staffer came by with a couple of squirrel stuffed toys for the boys. Funny, our boys hardly play with stuffed animals but they took care and slept these squirrels as if they were their pets.

We barely left the hotel during our stay there, which was quite something as I was worried we would suffer from cabin fever. In fact, one of the highlights was ordering room service not once, but twice for our two dinners. Of course, it was like an extravagance given you could get food at a fraction of the price just down the road; but hey, we are on a vacation and our boys totally loved the experience of in-room dining. We even had their nasi goreng that was raved about by my sister when she was my bridesmaid 7 years ago. There’s more to come but I leave you with these photos from our staycation.

Makes me feel like booking a staycation pronto upon reading your post. Might be a bit off topic, but may I know if your Goyard Tote is the PM (small) or GM (big)? Been wanting to get but cannot decide on size. Thanks!

Hello! This Goyard is GM, which is good as a travel or carry-all bag. For work or weekends, I prefer the PM, which is medium.

Thanks for the reply! I'm only assuming you have both the PM and GM from your reply. Lucky you!
