Sunday Steak Luncheon

Don't you just love the long weekend? It's Monday but it feels like a Sunday! Sunday, Monday, Happy Days...

Just yesterday, we christened our new Le Creseut skillet with a simple luncheon. With a baby who has recently discovered his ability to throw tantrums, such lunch-ins are a great way to spend time with our families  and expand our kitchen repertoire. Two birds. One stone. Endless fun. .

Tomatoes + rocket leaves + raisins + toasted almonds + Italian dressing

Panko breadcrumbs + linguini + cayenne pepper + lemon + olive oil

Though my younger sister couldn't make it, she made her presence felt with these baby-fist-sized risotto balls that she had made for a dinner party the night before.

Of course, the highlight of lunch were these grain-fed ribeye steaks. Finished off with knobs of butter and a sprig of rosemary. I'm not usually a big meat eater but if you catch me on the right day, you can tell I love me some iron-rich red meat!

Though we didn't prepare dessert, everyone lapped up the Haagen Daaz and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream from Russell’s Mexican Fiesta. A sprinkle of toasted almonds (yes, excess from the salad) was all it took to take leftover ice cream up a notch. Happy days, indeed.
