today we had lunch at the club because we wanted to try out the fortnight-long la mian special. but it turned out that the daily specials sounded too salivacious to pass up.
the curry cabbage and tau pok had some serious spice-kicking going on. by my second mouthful, i needed a refill of ice water.. who's complaining? no me of course! the gravy was thick with flavour and the chef definitely did not spare on the coconut milk and curry paste. and the result was a saucy good time!
i wonder how long it will take for me to get finally tired of fish. i have only been back for a week and i have had sushi twice and during dinner, i would charge towards the fish.. as soon as i saw the deep fried baby soon hock on the menu, it was an immediate must-order. the incredible taste matched it fancy hoo-ha looking appearance. the taste of fish was instantaneously gratifying to a fish-buff such as myself and the crisp skin managed to stay brittle against the mango salad topping. which reminds me- i miss thai food!
jie had prawn mee, which was laden with prawns and spare ribs. we could not resist ordering a second (or third, for that matter) helping of fragrant, herd-scented soup.
amusing enough, jimmy said his minced chicken la mian was comme ci comme ça which translates to "so-so" from french. which is why i didn't bother with a picture.
