on wedesday, i had lunch with ade at the asian kitchen. it wasn't fantastic but not criminally bad too.. their zha jiang mian had a strong ketchupy flavour to it, as opposed to it being savoury, so it's perfect for those who like a sweet tinge to their noodles. overall, it lacks the delectative-oomph crystal jade possesses.. but i think i should try the branch at raffles city because that's the one that ade loveslovesloves.
sidetrack, i am officially a beppu makan aficionado. i totally dig their ramen and bottoms up to their broth, which was choked full of essence. in fact, i am a serious offender of finishing my broth before the noodles, henceforth leaving an unplatable mess behind.
i admit i have been a little lazy on my food endeavours.. preferring to dig in before taking any pictures.. i guess this is AT LEAST fine by miss zhu tse yun who finds the food pictures uninteresting.. and would rather see pictures of MOI. but i am not into camera whoring just yet- blame it on the lack of guts?
my dad recently suscribed to cable tv's family plus group so we kinow have more discovery channels -yay for mum-, entertainment channel -yay for the closet tabloid chsers in all of us- and hooray hooray, asian food channel!
i flipped on the tv and a chinese channel drama serial pops onto my screen. this is the first time i have seen this programme but really, twenty mins into the show, it doesn't take a neurosurgoen to realise what's going on. ANYWAY right now the lead actress rui en is chasing after her now-then-find-out-he's-her-the-true-love-of-her-life as mr-right-now-heartbroken heads to the airport with miss-pretending-to-be-blind-to-gain-her-affection.
confused? hardly i'll bet. since this falls within the scriplines of just about 98% of all singaporean-chinese-taiwanese-korean-created dramas.
oh god, she's sobbing and confessing her love.. right before plunging head-on onto his chest. getmeoutofhere. but on the other hand, it's quite amusing..
charl's returning to the states tomorrow.. sigh but at least i got to spend some time with her this afternoon over famous amos's butterscotch pecan cookies. all's not lost for she will be back in december.
just took dad's manuka honey to soothe my sore throat. UMF 10+.. going by how dad raves about the CERTIFIED BY UNIVERISTY OF WAIKOTA benefits of manuka honey, i have a feeling i wouldn't just appease my throat.. in fact, i'll bet this will have me singing as sweetly as a lark by tomorrow, no?
some pictures i took from my short trip to the outskirts of chinatown...
