Thursday, March 9

my head is spinning from staring at too many provence city map- from analysing the location of our hotel and main train station to locating the town centre and places of interest.

an extension of my branch-length attempts to control my winter budget, i have begun packing lunches for school. thereby realising yet another childhood fascination. i have always had a softspot for packed lunches, especially those in plastic lunchboxes. i remember once reading a japanese picture book and envying the japanese school children with their boxed bentos and riceballs that fitted snugly against one another in perfect symmetry. perhaps the wholesome look of something thoughtfully prepared was an idea that appealed and stayed with me throughout the years.

don't worry, i haven't gone all zany and gotten myself a cutsey pink-overload-hello-kitty lunchbox.. instead, i'm using an everyday plain lunchbox that i bought from woolworth in durham. and though i have ideas of preparing riceballs, toasted ham and cheese sandwiches paired with exactly five cherry tomatoes (just enough to fill up any remaining space) would suffice for now.

end of the week for me yay.
