A Merrious Xmas Family Lunch

Christmas is in the airrrr! Last weekend, we had the families over (KW’s plus mine) for a great big family luncheon. 11 adults and 5 kids under 7 years old. Plenty of fun - and chaos, I assure you.

 Wagyu MB4 Steaks

This year, KW's brother and his family are back from California so that called for a treat. Not that we need a real reason to tuck in Wagyu steaks. Heh heh!

Roasted cauliflower with pesto yogurt

Angel hair pasta with truffle oil, kombu & sesame seeds

A simple angel hair pasta to tone down the heavy meats we were ingesting. The lighter the pasta, the more it agrees with me.

Maple BBQ Salmon

This maple-crusted salmon is both easy to make and delicious. I pretty much followed this recipe and it's almost idiot-proof. The key to is not overcooking the salmon. 6 minutes plus 2 minutes. Not a minute more.

My sister brought over a scrumptous Caramel Chestnut Yule Log Cake from Mezzanine, Grand Hyatt. It's even prettier when you cut it open. It’s even prettier when you cut into it. And it has a moreish biscuit base - a perfect foil to the rich fudgy caramel.

Hope you all have a lovely time with your loved ones.
