Formerly known Taylor's Automatic Refresher, Gott’s Roadside serves up glamourised American classics. We could see people sniffing out the place at around 11:30 am so it will probably pack in the crowds in another hour or so. It is a self-serve place, so you order at the counter and only pick it up when the buzzer vibrates and blinks.
We ordered a Wisconsin sourdough, essentially a sandwich pretending to be a burger. Of course, we all know that sandwiches never quite achieved the rockstar status of burgers so sympathies for
Griddled mushrooms, bacon, cheddar cheese, mayo and BBQ sauce between toasted sourdough, it was tasty. Good, yes but did it make me loopy with delight? Not really.
The top-heavy chili cheese fries came with house-made chili, cheddar cheese and green onions. We weren’t super-duper blown over by the frozen fries despite the fact that we aren’t fries snobs.
If you have serious cravings for burgers and fries, Gott’s is not a bad place to check out.
