Birthday revelations

Photobucket

I don't want to sound sappy (there is a reason why I would choose Edward Monkton over Hallmark any day) and this post is long-overdue. With all your well wishes and kind thoughts, I always feel guilty for not being a better daughter, sister, friend, cousin etc. And if I don't make it a point to tell you how much you mean to me, you can scribble something nasty on my Facebook wall next year ok?

ANYWAY, my thoughts for hitting the mid-20s:

1. Being at work isn't a bad idea. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I'm typing this after a rush of sugar high from an awfully fudgy - surprise! - birthday cake. Birthday + Monday + Work = Not such a toxic conoction after all.

2. It's not what you do but who you celebrate it with. Seriously, with all the trinkets, gifts and treats, the best gift I've received is your friendship and love. And of course, this includes you, good ol'salmon belly.

3. Yes, it might be Facebook message but at least that person bothered to string together some well wishes. I know from privacy issues to the breakdown of face-to-face communication, there are tons of articles out there bashing Facebook but for one day, I felt almost eternally grateful to receive well wishes, especially from people I didn't expect to hear from.

4. My love affair with hats? It's officially on!

5, There's something about different about hitting a multiple of 5. Can't remember how I felt when I turned 15 or 20 but turning 25 makes me fweel grown-wup.

You weren't seriously expecting sagely advice from me, were you?

Ciao!
